The Clay Gallery of Ann Arbor
December 3, 2011- March 18, 2012
Pyron Gallery

Beginning on December 3, 2011, Ella Sharp proudly presents the exhibit of clay works done by artists from The Clay Gallery, a cooperative of nineteen Ann Arbor area artists who share a love of clay and the excitement of pushing the frontiers of the ceramic arts. The artists come to the material with a range of approaches to functional and sculptural clay, with a passion for beautiful glazes and imaginative approaches to well constructed work.

All sculptural works are for sale and make terrific holiday gifts for family, friends and even yourself! Don’t miss out on this wonderful display of functional, fun, elegant and inspiring work by Michigan artists.
Clay Gallery was founded twenty seven years ago and now features luminaries such as J.T. Abernathy, its original founder, John and Susanne Stephenson, emeritus professors at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University respectively, several former teachers and professors and independent ceramic artists who maintain their own studios or work at the Ann Arbor Potters’ Guild. Some of the Clay Gallery artists have exhibited at other venues where they have won many prizes and medals of excellence.
