1869: Ricochet

2005, 64" x 36" 30" bronze

Greg Woodward, who resides in Utah, is an artist of many talents. He is a two-time World Bird Carving Champion in both the decorative life-sized and interpretive categories. His bronze works are often labeled 'organic' in nature due to the loose sculpting style employing a variety of textures that create a multitude of shadow and light. Additionally, small bits of the casting mold are retained in the completed bronze supplementing earth tone coloring in his patina process. Woodard is represented by Altamira Fine Art in Jackson, Wy.

1869: Ricochet is a unique artistic

expression of a life-sized male golden eagle hunting a jack rabbit. A past railroad employee and a long time falconer, Greg has created a natural and dynamic sculpture of life he has witnessed in the area in which he lives. 1869 refers to the date the first Transcontinental Railroad met and the “Golden Spike” was driven.
