Crimson Wind

oil

Amy Poor's Crimson Wind is a non-traditional portrait of a bison and bears little resemblance to the other paintings in this gallery that were newly acquired. Her striking use of color and boldness of painting style pulls the viewer in emotionally and although she paints on a flat surface, the bison's body language suggests movement.

Growing up on a ranch in the rough terrain of North Eastern Oregon, Poor’s art mirrors the unpredictable and ephemeral moods of nature and the wildlife that inhabits it.
